MA in Social Work
The Master's Course in Social Work MA in Social Work prepares social workers and social educators with a BA for social work at a highly professional level. The length of the course is four semesters (120 credit points); the language of instruction is Hungarian. The program's goals include both a consolidation and a more differentiated, broader and multidisciplinary augmentation of the theoretical contents of the BA course as well as preparation for research-based academic work. Students' competence is thus further developed in the areas of the practice of social work, leadership and research. The speciality of the program is a complex approach to family-related social issues and a system-oriented integration of previously acquired knowledge and experience. We emphasise a value-based approach and its recognition as a resource. After the completion of this master's course, students are equipped to perform the following tasks:
The four-semester program combines the theory of social work with field work accompanied by case discussion groups. Students thus acquire experience about the practical applicability of the theories of social work, and their varied subject-based knowledge is integrated into practical competence. Acquiring broad multidisciplinary knowledge in the master's course helps students in setting the specific direction of their professional development and interests. The Institute contributes to that process by specialised knowledge that results from an approach focussing on the family. Graduates possess adequate knowledge to continue their studies at the PhD level. For further information contact: Attila PILINSZKI PhD (This email address is being protected from spambots.
