Master's Course 
in Mental Health-Oriented Family Studies 
and Family Therapy

In September 2015, the Institute of Mental Health at Semmelweis University is launching a master's course in Mental Health-Oriented Family Studies and Family Therapy. The length of the course is four semesters (120 credit points); the language of instruction is Hungarian.

 

Course objectives:

The main objective of the course is to train professionals possessing knowledge about up-to-date theories of Family Studies and Family Therapy coupled with the methodological and practical skills necessary to carry out research as well as academic and teaching activity in the field. Students should be able to apply the methods and approaches of Family Therapy at a high quality level with consideration for the social context, By the means of integrated but non-clinical family therapy intervention, they can influence family relationships, including those in challenged families or in alternative forms of partnership, in a preventive and supportive way, helping family members to locate their resources.
